Willie McCullen (Drums) was born in Waco, Texas. He began playing music at the early age of 6. He was known to sneak around and play on his Uncle’s drum kit. He began playing in church and in the Navy, where he bought his first drum set. He grew up listening to all types of styles of music. Within his latter years is when he really grew to appreciate Jazz and Blues. Fixed on drummers like Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, and Max Roach. While trying to keep up with drummers like Mike Mitchell, Shariq Tucker, Maison Guidry, Tony Royster, Ronald Bruner Jr, Chris Coleman, Chris Daddy Dave, Justin Tyson, Thomas Pridgen. While he was in the military he started a band called the “Terrible Two’s”, which consisted of only a guitarist and him. Once he left the Navy, he helped start a rock band called “The Aftershow”. After their first show, they won a local battle of the bands. Hype off the energy of that they got into south by south-west festival within the year. It was shortly after that is when he met Joshua Ray of “Hazy Ray” and actually became a national act. Willie is one of the founding members of If You Have To Ask and brings a lot of experience to the very versatile Band.
